Governor Helps Hart County Health Dept.

Governor Fletcher helped break ground in Hart County on a new health department this weekend.

During a check presentation, the governor awarded $450,000 to Hart County.

$350,000 of it will go toward resurfacing Hart County roads and the rest to their Fiscal Court to renovate the former Hart County Health Dept. building.

$1-million has also been given to build the new health department, $500,000 was from the help of the governor and the rest from a grant that was applied for.

"Hart County had probably one of the smallest health care facilities that we see across the state and this $500,000 is going to build a brand new facility and better allow them to care for the citizens here," Governor Fletcher said.

The brand new health facility will soon start construction.

As for the old facility, it will house the Hart County Extension and 4-H offices.
