Salon, spa, and beauty academy owner, Regina Webb, will be on the Republican slate in this spring's primary, running for the newly-redesigned 21st district house seat.
Webb ran unsuccessfully for the 32nd district state senate seat in 2010. Republican Mike Wilson won that race.
Webb calls herself a conservative who wants to lower taxes, protect the rights of the unborn, and get government out of the way of business.
The 2011 Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Small Business Person of the Year, Webb says she's excited for the opportunity to represent her community in Frankfort.
"Filing to run today was just the first step," she said. "My first plan of action will be to travel across the district and meet with as many people as I can; civic organizations, business leaders, church groups, and other parents and grandparents like myself, to find out what issues are important to them so that I can be the best advocate in Frankfort for our community."
Webb said she wants to bring common sense back to Frankfort, and believes her private sector experience will also be a valuable asset.
