Congressional budget cuts are affecting many people, including the Bowling Green Social Security Office.

Due to the cuts, the office will have to close earlier to shorten hours.

Effective August 15, it will begin closing at 3:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesdays.

This is a reduction of thirty minutes each work day.

Those with the BG Social Security Office say most services do not require a visit to an office.
