FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Ben Chandler is sharing the honor of most-valuable player in Thursday's congressional baseball game between Democrats and Republicans.

The Democrats won the game 18-5.

Chandler, the grandson of former Major League Baseball Commissioner Happy Chandler, played shortstop in the game that raised about $250,000 for Washington-area charities. He had three hits, a walk, three stolen bases, four runs batted in and one perfectly placed bunt.

Two other members of Kentucky's federal delegation played in the game. U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth played for the Democrats and U.S. Sen. Rand Paul played for the Republicans.

The game wrapped up a day politically charged by the U.S. Supreme Court's decision upholding the constitutionality of the federal health care reforms.

Democratic Rep. Cedric Richmond of Louisiana, who pitched, was the other MVP.
