FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- House Speaker Greg Stumbo has scheduled two days of meeting for lawmakers ahead of next month's legislative session, for briefings on issues regarding budget development and managed care within the Medicaid program.
Stumbo spokesman Brian Wilkerson said the briefings are set for Tuesday and Wednesday in the House chamber. All 100 state representatives have been invited.
At the top of the agenda for the legislative session that begins on Jan. 3, is adoption of a two-year state budget. Medicaid is among the most expensive programs in the budget, and a managed care plan has been developed to help control costs.
Legislative and executive branch experts will lead the briefings.
