Beating 11-year incumbent Karen Davis by 1205 , John Gardner won the Barren and Metcalfe Counties Commonwealth Attorney's race.

He says he looks forward to serving the people and will focus on the meth problem in these counties as well as reinstating the victims advocacy group.

"Public service has been instilled into me since I was young," says Gardner "My father was a former judge executive and my mother was a school teacher .I'm looking forward to serving Barren and Metcalfe Counties."

Gardner has been practicing general law in Glasgow for about 8 years.

Barren County's voter turn out came out to be about 16 percent.

A pleasant surprise for the county clerks office who were expecting less than 10 percent.
