FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- The measure passed 96-2 Wednesday morning, and now goes to the Senate for consideration.

The measure includes money for widening interstate highways, expanding airports, and dredging river ports over the next two years.

The spending measure also appropriates funding for the state's single largest project: $2.6 billion for two bridges across the Ohio River in Louisville.

Lawmakers have been rushing the measure through the House in hopes of wrapping up a special legislative session quickly. Gov. Steve Beshear called the special session because lawmakers didn't pass the measure in the regular session that ended last week.

Each day lawmakers are in Frankfort adds another $60,000 to the cost of the special session.

The legislation is House Bill 2.
