FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Franklin County Circuit Judge Thomas Wingate entered the order Thursday, after the political group reported where it had received funding.
The group in question, Restoring America, got nearly $1.4 million from Terry Stephens of Russell Springs. Stephens is the father-in-law of GOP nominee David Williams.
Restoring America has run ads backing Williams in his efforts to oust Democratic incumbent Gov. Steve Beshear.
Wingate's order came after Restoring America filed an amended report with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance showing Stephens as its only donor.
Wingate previously issued an order barring the group from running the ads.
