FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell is continuing his assault on federal health care reforms, promising to push to repeal them if he becomes majority leader next year.

McConnell and U.S. Sen. Rand Paul made a joint appearance at a tea party rally that drew some 400 people to the state Capitol in Frankfort Tuesday.

McConnell and Paul have been staunch critics of the federal health care reforms they refer to as "Obamacare." McConnell said repealing the Affordable Health Care Act will be his top priority if Republicans win enough seats in November to take control of the Senate. Paul told the crowd that the health care reforms are "a house of cards" that takes money from Medicare to give to "Obamacare."
