New First Responder Training

First responders are getting trained on the latest technologies, threats and skills at the Center for Rural Development.

Congressman Hal Rogers spoke to the group this morning and told them because of recent events in Western Kentucky being up-to-date on response strategies Is very important.

"I'm reminded just in the last few weeks of the two terrorists arrested in Bowling Green, Kentucky," said Rogers. "Close to home. No one expected them to be there, really a rural part of the country if you consider the larger cities. So we got to be on the lookout."

Such training courses have been commonplace across the country
but this is the first time one has been held in Somerset.
