The White House has announced that President Barack Obama intends to nominate Bowling Green investment executive, Pete Mahurin, to the TVA Board of Directors.

Mahurin has worked for Hilliard Lyons Financial Services since 1968, being named chairman in 2008.

He also serves as a board member for Houchens Industries, Albany Bancorp, Cecelia Bancorp, Gray Construction, Jackson Financial and the Governors Scholars of Kentucky.

Mahurin's nomination must be approved by the Senate Environment and Public Works committee, then confirmed by the full senate.
