FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Tim Profitt told The Associated Press he has "humbled himself before God" after his involvement in a scuffle outside a Kentucky television studio, where U.S. Senator Rand Paul and Democrat Jack Conway were scheduled to debate.

Now living in Arizona, Profitt entered a special plea in the case last month, in which he didn't admit guilt, but acknowledged prosecutors had enough evidence to convict him of misdemeanor assault. He agreed to serve unsupervised probation and pay $600 to cover medical bills of MoveOn.org activist Lauren Valle.

Video of the scuffle showed Valle being pulled down, her face pinned to the concrete, then being stepped on.
