FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- The Prestonsburg Democrat has been pushing a proposal that would crack down on doctors who over-prescribe painkillers in an effort to keep the pills out of the hands of addicts.
Some 12 hours before that vote, Kentucky State Police said four men wearing masks robbed a pharmacy in the Floyd County community of Eastern, taking "an unknown quantity" of prescription narcotics.
Police are still searching for the men, one of whom brandished a gun during the robbery.
The legislation is House Bill 4.
