Incoming freshmen at one Texas university will start their college careers in style!
Abilene Christian University has announced they'll be giving their students free iPod touches or iPhones!
ACU freshmen will use the devices to get homework alerts, answer in-class surveys and quizzes and to check their meal and account balances.
The university has already created 15 web-based applications optimized for the iPhone or iPod touch.
Abilene Christian is the first university to give students free iPhones and iPod touches, but more may soon follow.
Do you think this is a good idea?
Will the students actually use it for learning purposes?
I know that when I was a freshman in college all I received was a simple pen, calendar oh...and some books.

Dogs are typically mans best friend and according to a recent study so can robotic dogs.
Researchers at Saint Louis University compared a 35-pound dog name Sparky, with Aibo the robotic dog to see how residents of some U.S. nursing homes would respond.
The results may surprise you.
It turns out that a friendly dog can make older people just as happy whether it be real or robotic.
Did you find the results interesting?
Would you consider getting a robotic pet like the Aibo over an actual pet?
I'd like to hear what you have to say about this story.
