Monthly telephone bills have long been a way of the world. Now one company hopes to make them a thing of the past.
A California technology company is hoping to bring new life and innovation to the telephone. And getting rid of those phone bills may do just that.
The company's called "Ooma" and for about $400 you get a box, smaller than a typical answering machine.
It connects to your high-speed Internet service and whatever telephone handset you have around.
After that, all local and long-distance calls made through that phone are free.
Additional phones in your home can also be hooked up to the system.
