Starbucks plans to give away 50 million free digital songs to its customers, beginning next month. It's part of a plan to promote the coffee company's new partnership with iTunes.
Every day from October 2 to November 7, Starbucks baristas across the country will be handing out 1.5 million "song of the day" cards, redeemable at Apple's online iTunes store.
Featured artists include Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, Joss Stone and Band of Horses. The first free tune will be Bob Dylan's "Joker Man."
Starbucks recently reached an agreement with Apple to allow free access to the iTunes music store through the Starbucks WiFi system. Customers still have to pay to browse other Web sites.
