NEW YORK (AP) -- They are usually rivals.
But a number of social media companies are rooting for Facebook to win its battle against prosecutors in New York City.
Authorities have sought nearly 400 search warrants for users' postings and other data from the site.
That has gotten the attention of other sites like Foursquare, Kickstarter, Meetup and Tumblr -- who want to join the lawsuit.
The New York Civil Liberties Union and the American Civil Liberties Union also are backing Facebook, which believes it shouldn't have to cough up information as much as authorities are requesting.
