Mary Louise Hayes Smith, 90, of Severna Park, Md., since 2001, formerly of Bowling Green, died Jan. 12, 2005, in Maryland. The West Virginia native was employed with Scott’s Tobacco for 30 years and was a member of Old Union Missionary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Daniel Hayes and Florence Campbell Hayes and the wife of the late George Wesley Smith. She was preceded in death by a son, James Allen Smith; three brothers, Ben, David and Richard Hayes; and a sister, Lida. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Survivors include a grandson, Jeffery Allen Smith and his wife, Milena, of Severna Park; a brother, Dan; two sisters, Ruth and Lenore; a great-grandson, Nathaniel Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
