FRANKLIN - Clarence Joseph "C.J." Cassetty, 72, of Franklin died Aug. 11, 2005, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. The Simpson County native was a farmer and retired employee of Seal Power Co., a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion Post 62. He was a son of the late Clarence Edward Cassetty and Lura Bell Edward Cassetty. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home with burial in Restlawn Memory Garden. Military rites will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard. Survivors include his wife, Rose Carolyn Beach Cassetty; a daughter, Brenda Cassetty Chumney and her husband, John, of Versailles; a son, Lester Cassetty and his wife, Neta, of Portland, Tenn.; a sister, Nancy Smith of Franklin; four brothers, Bobby Cassetty of Hendersonville, Tenn., Sterling Cassetty of Franklin, Ross Cassetty of Woodburn and Edward Earl "Sam" Cassetty of Naples, Fla.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
