BROWNSVILLE — Morris “Jim” Johnson, 70, of Mohawk died May 10, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 9, 1937. He was a retired mechanic and lineman for Continental Telephone Co. He was a son of the late Rev. Homer Johnson and Gertie Johnson.
Funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday at Oak Grove United Baptist Church, where he was a member, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Patton Funeral Home, Brownsville Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Higginbotham Johnson; a son, Greg Houchin and his wife, Bobbie, of Rhoda; three daughters, Janis Morriece Alvey and her husband, Gene, and Angelia Faye Johnson, all of Chalybeate, and Jeanetta Girard and her husband, Harry Jr., of Mohawk; three sisters, Margie Durbin of Bowling Green, Pattie Van Meter of Brownsville and Dorthene Vincent of Rhoda; four grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson Jackson, Anthony Thomas Houchin, Joshua Girard and Jacob Girard; and two great-grandchildren, Jade Jackson and Kinsley Jackson.
