GLASGOW - Marie Thomas Palmore, 96, of Glasgow died Dec. 4, 2006, at a Glasgow nursing home. The Indianapolis native was a former cook for the Uptowner Motel and the Glasgow Holiday Inn and a member of Pleasant Point Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late William Borders and Mellissa Carver Borders and the wife of the late Georgie Ruel Thomas. She was preceded in death by her firstborn, Geneva Louis Thomas; a son, Billie Thomas; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Jodie Pace, and Georgia and Lewis McGonigle Sr.; a son-in-law, Jewel Stone; grandsons, Lewis McGonigle Jr. and Richard Pace; a great-great-granddaughter, Jodi Pace; four sisters, Juanita McDonald, Edith Kinslow, Helen Adams and Lydia Wheeler; two brothers, Carlton and James Borders; her second husband, Ed Palmore; a stepson, Haskel Palmore; and a stepson-in-law, Leon McGuire. Funeral is at 2 p.m. Wednesday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Caney Fork Cemetery. Visitation begins at noon today at the funeral home. Survivors include three sons, James Thomas and his wife, Rebecca, Terry Thomas and his wife, Linda, and Dickie Thomas, all of Glasgow; three daughters, Edna Stone and Ann Pace and her husband, Paul, all of Glasgow, and Bettye Carole Goode and her husband, Doug, of Sevierville, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Jenene McGuire; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Thomas of Glasgow; a sister, Virginia Vaughn of Oklahoma; a brother, Mitchell Borders of Glasgow; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
