She was a 1938 graduate of Western Kentucky State Teachers College, now Western Kentucky University, and taught many subjects, but most often English grammar and literature in the public schools of Webster and Simpson counties until her retirement in 1981. She was a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Mamie Adams Fortenbery. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Pascal B. Harris. Funeral is at 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Franklin, with graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery to follow. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. at the church.
