HORSE CAVE — Charles Rountree, 69, of Northtown died at 9:55 p.m. Oct. 31, 2009, at the home of his daughter. The Hart County native was a retired logger. He was a charter member, ordained deacon and trustee at Providence United Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Clyde Elmore Rountree and Vada Sturgeon Rountree. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Rountree Jr.; and two sisters, Ester and Mavis Rountree. Funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Winn Funeral Home, with burial in Northtown Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 1:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Rountree; two daughters, Sandra Rountree and Martha Tapscott and her husband, Steve, all of Northtown; two brothers, Roger Rountree and David Rountree and his wife, Carolyn, all of Northtown; two sisters, Nellie Clifford of Elizabethtown and Ruth Dickinson of Horse Cave; and several nieces and nephews.
