| SCOTTSVILLE — Helen M. Shockley, 70, of Scottsville died at 2 a.m. Oct. 31, 2009, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. The Fountain Run native was a homemaker, a seamstress and a member of Maple Grove General Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Neal Foster Yokley and Lou Mona Katherin Shaw Yokley and the wife of the late Barton Cordell Shockley. Funeral is at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Goad Funeral Home, with burial in Fountain Run Cemetery. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include three sons, Cordell Shockley and his wife, Tammie, Benny Neal Shockley and his wife, Sandra, and Tim A. Shockley and his wife, Leann, all of Scottsville; a daughter, Lori Short and her husband, Charles, of Glasgow; a brother, Murl Yokley and his wife, Joyce, of Fountain Run; four sisters, Carol Wheet and her husband, Kenny, of Alvaton, Louise Ford and her husband, Gerald, of Gamaliel, Jane Ann Elmore and her husband, Jimmy, and Tressie Houchens and her husband, James, all of Lucas; a foster brother, Larry Shaw of Fountain Run; a sister-in-law, Eunice Eaton of Haywood; 11 grandchildren, William Shockley, Tabitha Whitlow, Tyson Baker, Lucas Slavey, Catherine Cuellar, Elizabeth Mitaikostas, Adam Short, Amy Lee Shockley, Latishia Shockley, Sarah Shockley and Nicholas Shockley; and nine great-grandchildren, Dalton Whitlow, Reagan Whitlow, Zoe Baker, Kane Baker, Tashia Slavey, Josie Slavey, Xavier Cuellar, Zack Kendall and Nikki Kendall. | |
