Beatrice “Aunt Bea” Speer, 88, of Scottsville died at 1:13 p.m. Nov. 3, 2009, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tenn. The Scottsville native was a homemaker and former member of Scottsville First United Methodist Church. She was a daughter of the late Harry Ernest Williams and Lucy Maloney Gumm Williams. She was preceded in death by a niece, Beverly Anderson; a nephew, Maurice Glen “Reice” Pearson; six sisters, Vera French, Pearlis Pruitt, Ann Goodman, Dorothy Pearson, Mildred Thacker and Juanita Sikes; and a brother, Marion Albert Williams. Funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday at Goad Funeral Home, with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation begins at noon Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.goadfh.com. Survivors include five sons, Randy Speer and his wife, Irene, of Delphi, Ind., Dwight Speer and his wife, Carol, and Larry Speer and his wife, Barb, all of Zephyrhills, Fla., Jerry Speer and his wife, Velma, of Reynolds, Ind., and Charles Speer and his wife, Etta, of Lafayette, Tenn.; three daughters, Bonnie Goupil of Wolcott, Ind., Sandy Wise of Tampa, Fla., and Madge Mullins of Zephyrhills; four nephews, Wendell Pearson and his wife, Patty, of Scottsville, Ricky Sikes of Indiana and Jimmy and Glyn Goodman, both of Franklin; seven nieces, Gwen Wright and her husband, Gary, and Patty Oliver, all of Scottsville, Gail Sikes of Indiana, Martha Deasy and Jean Carol Goodman Bobbett, both of Bowling Green, Carolyn Titus of Colorado and Wanda Kelly of New Mexico; a great-niece, Regina Carter Boy of Scottsville, who was her guardian for two years and three months; several other great-nieces and great-nephews; 22 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.
