Billy Ray Cardwell, 64, of Morgantown, died Nov. 17, 2009, at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital of Bowling Green. The Warren County native was a sawmill operator and a member of Leonard Oak Baptist Church. He was a son of the late John Cardwell and Winnie Ann Cardwell. He was preceded in death by three children, Shona, Adam and Tori Cardwell; two sisters, Christine and Mary Ruth Cardwell; and two brothers, Charles and Dalford Cardwell. Funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday at Smith Funeral Home, with burial in Fannie Rone Cemetery in Morgantown. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Cardwell; a daughter, Amy Dawn Cardwell, of Morgantown; three brothers, Dalton Cardwell and his wife, Sue, Roger Cardwell and Wayne Cardwell and his wife, Susan, all of Morgantown; two sisters, Wanda Faye Cardwell and Willadean Givens and her husband, Jim, all of Morgantown; an uncle, Arthur Ray Cardwell, of Morgantown; and an aunt, MaeBelle Blair, of Morgantown.
