| Latha Irene Jenkins, 82, of Bowling Green, died at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 17, 2009, at a local nursing home. The Oklahoma native was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She was a past matron of Eastern Star Chapter 373. She was a daughter of the late Willie Ballard and Pearl Dovie Dodge Ballard and the wife of the late Walter Lee Jenkins. There is no service or visitation scheduled. Cremation was chosen, with burial in Okmulgee, Okla. Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green chapel, is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn Banter and her husband, Harold, of Bowling Green, Virginia Gordon, of Gloucester, N.J., and Mary Jenkins Vegas and her husband, Blaz, of Texas; two sisters, Pauline Johnson, of Arkansas, and Estella Williams, of Oklahoma; a brother, Buford Ballard and his wife, Cassandra, of Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Dawn Miller and her husband, Patrick, of Morgantown, Phaith Bates and her husband, Jerry, of North Carolina, Jenni Fansler and her husband, Michael, of Bowling Green, and Robert “Robbie” Gordon and his wife, Thena, and Marny Beth Juliano and her husband, Francis, all of New Jersey; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. | |
