Kathryn “Katie” Pruitt, 76, of Horse Cave, died at 8:45 p.m. Nov. 16, 2009, at her home. The San Angelo, Texas, native was retired from Mallory Capacitors and a member of Salem Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Jefferson Homemakers Club. She was also a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Air Force. She loved crocheting, crafts and painting. She was a daughter of the late Dero Varner and Kathryn Lee Varner, and wife of the late Roger Pruitt Sr. She was preceded in death by a sister and a great-granddaughter, Haley Minor. Funeral is at 1 p.m. Thursday at Winn Funeral Home, with burial in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and begins at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of Sympathy may take the form of contributions to either the Salem Baptist Church or Hospice of Bowling Green. Survivors include three children, Roger Pruitt Jr. and his wife, Teresa, of Campbellsville, Sharon Karnes and her husband, Kenneth, of Legrande, and Mike Pruitt and his wife, Sheila, of the Big Meadow community; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Adrian Handley of Livingston, Texas.
