| LeRoy Watson “Unc” Britt, 80, a 14-year resident of Minneapolis, formerly of Kewanee, died peacefully at 5:35 a.m. Nov. 16, 2009, at the home of his son in Peoria. The Kentucky native was born May 26, 1929. He worked at the Walworth Company in Kewanee for several years. He was a son of the late Arthur Britt and Lula Edmonds Britt. He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Beatrice Dunn, Minerva Hayes, Dorothy Crowe, Albert Britt, Scott Britt and Charles Britt. Funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rux Funeral Home, with burial at 11 a.m. Monday at Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Other survivors include 11 children, Paul Britt and his wife, Donna, of Peoria, Minerva Britt and Anita Walker-Boyd and her husband, Nate, all of Minneapolis, Robin Cornish and her husband, Greg, of Kewanee, Rochelle Wright and her husband, Kurt, and Carol Britt, all of Galesburg, Jill Dunn and her husband, Robert, of Champaign, Aretha Shaw and her husband, James, of Peoria, Sonia Williams, of Aurora, Dennis Williams, of Kewanee, and Tecura Britt, of Sterling; eight stepchildren, Leona Lee, Patricia, Harry and Fred Reader, Terry Bandy, Theresa Skinner, Lisa Alford and Thelma Warren; a brother, Alonzo Britt, of Smiths Grove, Ky.; 31 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. | |
