David E. Cardwell, 57, of Orlando, died peacefully on Nov. 18, 2009. The Bowling Green, Ky., native was born Dec. 14, 1951. He received his bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida and was a member of the bar since 1975. He spent most of his career as a partner at Holland & Knight, where his primary area of practice was public law. He was an active member of the American Bar Association. David served for many years as general counsel to the Florida Redevelopment Association and during the 2000 presidential election served as an election law analyst on CNN. A lifelong baseball fan, he was a founder and the executive director and general counsel of the Florida Grapefruit League Association. He was a son of the late Emery Cardwell and Vera Reed Cardwell. Memorial service is at a later date.
