Jennie B. McGuffey Holbrook, 80, of Scottsville, died at 8:15 p.m. Nov. 17, 2009, at a Scottsville nursing home. The Scottsville native was a former employee of Washington Overall Manufacturing, Scotscraft and Alene’s and Dollar General Store. She was a former member of Dover Missionary Baptist Church, Union Chapel United Methodist Church and Scottsville Chapter No. 60 Order of Eastern Star. She was a daughter of the late Ira Lee Meador Sr. and Pearl Barger Meador. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ewell Lee Meador; and a sister, Louise Casada. Funeral is at 2 p.m. Saturday at Goad Funeral Home, with burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Jimmie Holbrook; three sons, Freddie McGuffey and his companion, Darlene Beller, and Maxie McGuffey and his wife, Carla, all of Scottsville, and Robbie McGuffey and his wife, Kim, of Bee Springs; three stepdaughters, Thelma Sue Trapp and her husband, Jeffery, and Ethel Mae Shouse and her husband, Marty, all of Coeburn, Va., and Sally Jean Scruggs and her husband, Tommy, of Scottsville; two stepsons, David Wayne Holbrook, of Valdese, N.C., and Steven Wade Holbrook and his wife, Margie, of McAndrews; two brothers, her twin, Billy Meador and his wife, Beatrice, and Jr. Meador and his wife, Shirley, all of Scottsville; five sisters, Comilla Huntsman and Geneva Heath Britt and her husband, Jim, all of Bowling Green, Greta Ransom and Bobbie Sue Sims, both of Scottsville, and Dorothy Lou Keen and her husband, Bro. Stanley, of Weston, W.Va.; a sister-in-law, Jacquline Meador, of Scottsville; eight grandchildren, Amy Fox and her husband, Jason, Angie Myers and her husband, Matt, Russ McGuffey, Stacia McGuffey, Drew McGuffey, Chase McGuffey, Cody McGuffey and Alex Lasley; five great-grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
