Chuck Lynch, 83, of Russellville, died Nov. 17, 2009, at a Bowling Green nursing home. The Knox County native was born May 2, 1926. He was a World War II veteran and a sergeant with the Air Force, where he was a gunnery instructor. He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University, a retired teacher with the Russellville Independent Schools after 35 years, past president of Public Personnel Workers, was on the board of directors of the Kentucky Association of Schools Administrators and was a member of First Baptist Church for 52 years. He was a son of the late Eugene Raymond Lynch and Sallie Newland Lynch. Funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday at Young Funeral Home, Russellville chapel, with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Russellville Alumni Association. Survivors include his wife, Hilda Stratton Lynch; a daughter, Amy Billingsley and her husband, David, of Versailles; two grandchildren, Kresta Wilson and her husband, Josh, of Lexington, and Kent Billingsley and his fiancee, Amber McGehee, of Lexington; and two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Gavin Wilson, of Lexington.
