Charles William Dalton of Charlottesville, Va., died Nov. 8, 2009. The Scottsville native was a graduate of Scottsville High School and Western Kentucky University. He worked for two years with the state of Kentucky as an auditor and then joined General Electric Co. in 1963 where he remained employed for more than 36 years. He was a longstanding member of First Baptist Church Park Street in Charlottesville, Va., where he served as deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member. He was a son of the late Aubrey Pace Dalton and Mary Kelly Dalton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Lee Dalton. Funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Laura Turner Chapel, with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel. Goad Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Barbara Foster Dalton; two sons, Charles Michael Dalton and his wife, Dana, of Atlanta, and William Jeffrey Dalton and his wife, Susan, of Charlotteville; a sister, Charlotte Ann Pitchford and her husband, John, of Memphis; a brother, Larry E. Dalton, of Lexington; and four grandchildren, Aubrey, Jacob, Andrew and Grace Dalton.
