In an effort to raise money for Junior Acheivment, several brave people from local buisnesses and organizations come out to take the Penguin Plunge on Feb. 23, at Bowling Green's 2008 Home Expo.
This year our own Matt Stephens made the jump.
We take a cold look back, in this week's "Adventures in Kentucky."
As told by Matt Stephens.
"Today is the third annual Penguin Plunge, presented by Bluegreass Cellular, over 50 crazy people have signed up to take the plunge," said Junior Achievement representative, Heather Rogers.
And one of those crazy people was me.
"OK, the weatherman says it's 38 degrees outside but im still going to jump in, because I'm Ricky Bobby and if you ain't first . . . you're last!"
But we were crazy for a good cause, raising over $15,000 for Junior Achievment.
So, have you ever wondered what it's like to jump into a swimming pool full of ice during the middle of Winter?
"It's exillerating, can't explain the feeling man, you're going to have to feel it for yourself. Go all the way under, it's better when you do it that way."
After a few words of encouragemnent it was time to take the plunge.
As always, if you have any ideas you would like to see Matt try, you can email him at matt.stephens@wbko.com.
