Clinton fever has come to Bowling Green. "Kentucky for Hillary" opened a new office and held an open house Monday. Crowds turned out to show support for their favorite candidate. A candidate they hope will stand out in Kentucky next week.

"A week from tomorrow is a big day in Kentucky, the election day, and we think that certainly our candidate, Hillary Clinton, is going to win Kentucky," said Jody Richards, Kentucky House Speaker, to a crowd of cheering supporters.

"The woman has a lot of purpose," said Barbara Burns, a Clinton supporter. "She wants to serve our country as best she can, and I believe she can do that as president."

Waving signs high and pinning buttons on every shirt, proud supporters of Clinton expressed their excitement over her lead in Kentucky's polls and the opening of the new Bowling Green office.

"This is exciting!" said Burns. "I have gone to different places to see her. I was in Shreveport, Louisiana when Bill came in right after he won his first election, so it's really exciting for a small town like Bowling Green to have people like this here working for Hillary."

"Women for Hillary!" shouted a crowd of supporters.

Although Clinton may be in the lead, supporters say that isn't the only reason they have high spirits.

"We'd still be cheering, yelling, and screaming even if she wasn't," said Burns.

Richards showed support by defining the qualities he feels Clinton holds: experience, knowledge, commitment, and courage.

"One thing, that woman really has courage," said Richards to much applause.

Volunteers hope to gain enough support to keep Clinton high in Kentucky's polls.

"She's a hardworking soul," said Burns. "She's a mom. We've tried all the other men. Let's give this woman a chance."

The office will be open 12 hours a day from 9 in the morning until 9 at night, in hopes of gathering enough support to put another Clinton one step closer to the White House.
