A long-awaited Senate version of the health care reform bill is expected to be unveiled today.
After weeks of negotiations among a so-called "gang of six" aimed at coming up with a bipartisan bill, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus is set to go it alone.
He'll unveil an $880 billion proposal that so far doesn't have any Republican backing.
Baucus says he'll keep trying to win some converts: and he expects he'll have some by the time his committee votes next week.
But Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says he doesn't expect the plan to win much GOP backing.
Baucus' plan is expected to call for co-ops to compete with private insurance companies.
The lack of a public option is already drawing fire from liberals.
