New details emerge involving former Kentucky lawmaker Steve Nunn.
We're learning more about the 56-year-old, who's now in jail for murder and events that took place just a day before his arrest.
We learned Wednesday that Steve Nunn tried to update a gravestone he had bought in Glasgow, one day before his ex-fiancee, Amanda Ross, was found shot to death.
Borders Monument owner Abe Shelton says Nunn had written down information that caused some concern, prompting Shelton to find him some help.
Shelton said Nunn had wrote his birthdate on the monument and a date of death.
He declined to comment on camera Wednesday afternoon, but one former lawmaker who served with Nunn talked about his recent actions.
"It is bizarre and unbelievable. I guess that's the only way I can describe it," said Walter Baker, a Glasgow attorney and former Kentucky senator.
For nearly 22 years, Baker served as a Kentucky legislator.
A number of those he served with Steve Nunn.
"If someone had told me six months ago that this would happen, I would've said you were smoking marijuana. That's not typical conduct of Representative Nunn," Baker said.
Nunn was found at Cosby Cemetery in Hart County with his wrists slit, just hours after his former fiancee was shot to death in Lexington.
Police say Nunn was at his father's grave, former Governor Louie B. Nunn.
It was his legacy Baker says brought both benefit and burden to Steve Nunn.
"Steve had to carry that legacy, but was not the type of strong leader in that sense that his father was," Baker said.
Baker says he met Amanda Ross on a couple of occasions.
The latest in 2008 at the Glasgow Country Club.
"Very attractive young lady. They seemed very happy together," he said.
Now a year later, it's a different story.
"Amanda is your shining star," someone said during funeral services for Amanda Ross.
Friends and family gathered to remember Ross in Lexington Wednesday afternoon.
It's a life they say was taken too soon.
"Just a short distance from here, in the darkness of an early morning, a predator cowardly laid and waited. And in a selfish and senseless act, Amanda lost her life," said family friend Dale Emmons, at the funeral.
Jailer Keith Riordan says Nunn remains in the Hart County Jail on a $57,000 cash bond for six counts of wanton endangerment he was charged with Friday.
There's still no word when Nunn could be moved to Fayette County to face his murder charge.
