A U-S House subcommittee holds hearings on the USA Patriot Act.
The members are looking at three provisions of the act that are scheduled to expire at the end of the year if congress doesn't act to renew them. The provisions cover roving wiretaps, surveillance of unknown suspects and expanded intelligence records searches.
Testimony was interrupted Tuesday by a protester... who was promptly removed by security guards.
The full Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing Wednesday on the Patriot Act.
