Former Vice President Dick Cheney says it's time for President Barack Obama to "do what it takes to win" the war in Afghanistan and stop dithering while U.S. troops face danger.

The former vice president says the Obama administration seems to be pulling back and blaming others for its own failure to implement the strategy it had embraced earlier in the year.

Cheney spoke Wednesday night in Washington at a dinner hosted by a conservative national security organization. Obama ordered a review of goals and strategy for the war in Afghanistan and has been meeting with advisers to determine the next step in the 8-year-old war.

Cheney says signs of indecision endanger the troops and hurt the cause.
