Democrats have selected a candidate for an open House seat.
Democrats selected Barry Webb, of Grayson, Monday night. Barry Webb beat out three other candidates in the vote in Carter County. The vote totals were not released.
Kentucky's 96th Legislative District has been unoccupied since state Sen. Robin Webb left the House for the Senate.
Gov. Steve Beshear has called a special election to fill the seat for Dec. 8. It covers Carter and Lewis counties in northeastern Kentucky.
Republicans are expected to meet Tuesday night to select a candidate.
