Southern Delight® Strawberries & Cream Angel Food Trifle FAT FREE Version
Ingredients:
  • 1 Angel Food Cakes (sour cream preferred)
  • 2 lbs. Fresh Strawberries
  • 1/4 C. Granulated Sugar

    Whipped Topping
  • 1 C. Granulated Sugar
  • 1 lb Fresh Strawberries
  • 3 8 oz. Containers Fat Free Whipped Topping
  • Directions:
    Rinse Strawberries well and cap, reserving the most firm 2 lbs. of Strawberries to slice.

    Puree 1 lb. Strawberries and 1 C. Granulated Sugar in food processor, set aside.

    Slice 2 lbs. Strawberries and sprinkle with 1/4 C. Granulated Sugar., set aside. In large bowl, fold Strawberry/Sugar Puree into Whipped Topping just until blended.

    Assemble Trifle in Trifle dish, medium punch bowl or into two casserole dishes. Pinch off small pieces of Angel Food Cake to form a loose bottom layer in dish/bowl, cover with layer of strawberry whipped topping, adding a layer of sliced & sweetened Strawberries.

    Repeat with a second layer, finishing with the sliced Strawberries. If using a Trifle dish, you may need a third layer.

    For best flavor, refrigerate for at least an hour before serving. Serves 12-16.
