An early morning fire barely misses an area middle school.

The Bowling Green Fire Department received a call after 3:30 a.m. of a trailer that was fully engulfed.

The trailer was used for storage and was located beside Drakes Creek Middle School.

Seven units and 29 firefighters were called to the scene.

"There was no spread to the main school. One trailer was a total loss and the trailer next to it was a partial loss to the exterior," explained Dan Brown, assistant fire chief for the Bowling Green Fire Dept.

Classes at Drakes Creek Middle School were not affected.

Investigators have been on the scene all day.

The Family Services coordinator says they lost school supplies, hygiene products and gently used clothing and more.

They are accepting monetary donations and hygiene products in order to restock the center.
