Louisville police say a college student charged with killing her newborn daughter hid her pregnancy from her family and friends.

Police say 19-year-old Kathryn McCoy kept the pregnancy a secret.

She gave birth to the girl early Oct. 25 at Bellarmine University.

It was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Jefferson County deputy coroner says the infant girl was full-term, or nearly so, when she was delivered.

The official cause of her death has not been released.
