The latest test results are in and they're not good for U.S. students.

The results show American pupils are lagging behind their peers in other countries when it comes to math and science.

The numbers come from a standardized test given to 15-year-olds in 30 industrialized countries last year.

The average score for U.S. students placed them 17th in science, and just seven spots from the bottom in math.

There's no change in U.S. math scores since the last time the exam was given in 2003.

The science scores couldn't be compared because that portion of the test has been changed since that time.

Finland's 15-year-olds took the top spot in science.

The Finns are also among the top performers when it comes to math.
