A former Bellarmine student was indicted on murder charges on Dec. 13 in the death of her own daughter.

Kathryn McCoy pleaded not guilty to tampering with physical evidence for allegedly giving birth to a baby girl, then concealing the body.

The charges came after a baby girl was found in a gym bag in McCoy's dorm room.

Police say McCoy gave birth to the baby in the bathroom of her dorm on October 23, then let the infant fall into the toilet.

McCoy is free on a $50,000 bond.

I am once again sick at heart from hearing of yet another innocent baby being killed by the one that is supposed to be the protector. When will we have enough of this? If Only the punishment matched the crime, it would stop. This 'KINDER, GENTLER" system of punishment that we have adopted for those who hurt others and especially children only seems to be encouraging the harm of children. They know that the worst thing that will happen is some psychiatric care or some jail time but I guarantee you that if you start doing to them what they do to children...they would not continue to harm and kill our helpless children. Yes there are some who may read this and say how barbaric I am...They are part of the problem. Its time to stop this. HAVE WE THE COURAGE OR IS IT EASIER TO LET THE BABIES SUFFER.
