A former Bellarmine student was indicted on murder charges on Dec. 13 in the death of her own daughter.

Kathryn McCoy pleaded not guilty to tampering with physical evidence for allegedly giving birth to a baby girl, then concealing the body.

The charges came after a baby girl was found in a gym bag in McCoy's dorm room.

Police say McCoy gave birth to the baby in the bathroom of her dorm on October 23, then let the infant fall into the toilet.

McCoy is free on a $50,000 bond.
