The Western Kentucky University Board of Regents called a special meeting Dec. 15 before graduation where they approved the purchase of property.
The board approved purchasing property at 513 Regents Avenue, which is located next to WKU.
The property will be used as housing for visiting scholars.
The chair of the board says the property will fit in nicely with all the others that they hold along that street.
"And will be used to I think to a great advantage to help and accommodate those who come here and study with us and support whats happening at WKU," said Lois Gray, Chair of the WKU Board of Regents.
The property was purchased for $222,900.
