A Bowling Green family has a new house, just in time for the New Year.
On Dec. 22, Western Kentucky University and Habitat for Humanity presented Ava Barber and her family with a new home on West Main Street in Bowling Green.
Western raised all the funds for the home, which in the end will total $50,000.
The University also provided around 300 volunteers for building the home.
"It has been fifteen months since the beginning of this house, and it was a tremendous learning curve, and we have poured ourselves into it heart and soul, and to see it happen and to see them move in is a glorious thing," said WKU Professor Laura Leach.
Volunteers worked once a week on the house and finished on Dec. 19, when eight students put on the final coat of paint.
