I find the comment interesting. I have not heard any of the other colleges across the state offering these types of services to undergraduate students, specifically with a tuition break. The KCTCS system is allowing dislocated workers of the community a chance to find themselves within another career goal. Personally, I think more institutions of higher ed should follow suit. It is amazing to me, how many people can throw blame and judgement in this time of need, to educators trying to make the situation easier and better for our community.
How generous the fine folks at KCTCS are with your money. As taxpayers, these are the people that paid for and built this institution in the first place. Looks to me like KCTCS is just trying to cash in, their main objective is numbers (aka head count as kctcs insiders call it). If they happen to make a few people think that they give a crap in the process, well thats just icing on the cake.
