Safety and school bus preparations aren't the only last-minute details when it comes to going back to school.
Teachers are getting ready for the arrival of their students.
"We spend a lot of time getting our classrooms ready," said Angela Newton, Lost River Elementar teacher.
Whether it's looking ahead...
"Working on curriculum and working on our class list and getting our groups together," Newton said.
...or even looking back,
"Cleaning up the mess I left in the Spring is basically what I'm doing right now," teacher Rhonda Biller admitted.
it's a busy week to be a teacher.
Biller, the Warren Central High School Teacher hasn't seen her students yet, but she's already hearing from them.
"My phone has started ringing at home, so that's always a sign they're beginning to miss me a little bit. The excitement of returning is beginning to show," Biller said.
Before the first day of school, there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes to make the first day run smoothly. From elementary school level...
"We have our parents coming in. I've been getting packets together to give them information and forms that they have to fill out for the upcoming year," Newton said.
...to high school,
"What I've been doing personally is trying to talk to some of the teachers I'll be collaborating with," Biller explained.
even the teachers have a little learning to do before the big day.
Don't worry students, you aren't the only ones who are surprised school's already here.
"The teachers are shocked, just like the students I'm sure. Summer went by very, very quickly," Biller said.
But these teachers say they're finally ready to start the school year.
"I'm excited. I'm looking forward to it, and I'm anxious to meet my students," Newton said.
Both teachers in this story say it's sometimes difficult to get ready for the school year since they have so much material to cover during the year.
