WKU’s Office of Research on Thursday (May 5) will host the May Chamber After Hours featuring an open art exhibition by WKU faculty and students titled Community of Artists.

The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce event, which begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Center for Research and Development, will be the opening of the WKU faculty and student art exhibit that will be on display through June 24.

“This event is to showcase two aspects of WKU’s mission, our commitment to economic development and our commitment to the cultural life of the community,” said Dr. Gordon Baylis, Vice President of Research.

Partnering with the WKU Art Department is an opportunity to showcase the 20,000 square feet of common space within the Center, located at 2413 Nashville Road. With features from traditional media such as painting, printmaking, sculpture and weaving, the visual arts merge within a technology research facility.

The idea is to provide the community with direct access to, not only the artists’ work, but also their ideas and processes. The Center is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
